Vice President

TCU Computer Science Society

May 2026 — Present

when i first came to tcu, i didn’t just want to attend events. i wanted to help build the kind of computer science community i would’ve wanted as a new student.

before becoming vice president, i was already involved with the society whenever i could be. i went to events, talked with students and faculty, and kept thinking about small things that could be improved. when the faculty selected me for the role, it felt like an opportunity to finally turn those ideas into something real.

one of the first things i started working on was pulse labs. it came from a problem i ran into while helping organize events: we were constantly switching between spreadsheets, google forms, and paper sign-in sheets just to keep track of attendance. i wanted something simpler, and it eventually grew into a platform for managing student organizations. there’s a whole page about that project because it became much bigger than i originally expected.

another project i’m especially proud of has been helping bring the grace hopper celebration to more students at tcu. i worked with our department and anitab.org to make it possible for four students from the computer science society to attend grace hopper celebration 2026. representation matters to me, especially because i know how important it is for students from underrepresented backgrounds to see themselves in these spaces and realize they belong there too.

even though most of my term is still ahead of me, we’re already planning workshops, company events, hackathons, and new ways to connect students with research and internship opportunities. i’m excited to work with other student leaders and faculty, but i’m even more excited about meeting students who are just getting started.

i hope that by the time i graduate, students will feel like the computer science society is more than just a club. i want it to be a place where people can ask questions, find teammates, meet mentors, discover opportunities, and know there’s always someone willing to help.
